The black ghost
Look up the Detroit black ghost. Hold any race related hesitation, its not like that.
1970 Challenger (like from Vanishing point) R/T SE. GATOR skin vinyl roof. 426 HEMI. BEAST BEAST BEAST.
If that doesnt make you want to by a case of Coors Banquet, hop into a car with fat ass slicks, and run a red light, you got some thinking to do.
The 1970 Dodge Challenger is just sexy car. Look at it. Its perfect. And everything about this car is perfect on top of perfection. Black on Black? Sheet. Pistol grip shifter? Sheeet. Oh and its a 4 speed manual? Sheeeet. The GATOR, again, GATOR vinyl top? SHEEEEET.
Every little detail just adds to its perfection. The hood pins, the pan african flag. The fat ass tires, the fact it was owned by a cop, the fact it was a drag racing legend that handed out Ls like a college calculus teacher. Just all so damn good.
American muscle just isnt what it used to be. Thats obvious and nothing new. But its so damn nice we still have reminders of what it was. Cudas, Challenders, Chevelles, El Caminos, Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, Firebirds, GTOs. It makes me want to kick a toddler or something.
If you havent gone to see a drag race, you really should change that. Dont be turned off the first time you go, its an easily acquired taste. You dont get how loud, fast, and cool these things can be. And theyre built buy some dude that probably lives down the street from you. It really is insane, and its even more fun because these dudes do not give a DAMN. They push the limits on their cars all the time and trick them out like crazy. They can stop looking like whats in your grandpas garage pretty quickly. Just go and youll see what I mean.
And its not just stuff from the 60s or 70s if thats what youre worried about. They have some cool stuff from the 80s to the early 2000s. Some people just bring their new cars off the lot with whatever sports package was being sold. Its a lot of fun.
Go to car shows too, theyre really badass. And if you can look into building a classic, its an effort and a half but worth it. Sadly youll never have the Black Ghost of Detroit. I wont either so its ok.
Sorry for last post for being so long, heres a short one in apology lol.
