Interests

> Defining your interests is sometimes weird, when you say them out loud you realize they are kind of defining you. In my case, I immediately start reevaluating what I share. I think im confident in letting these things define me. Id like to invite whoever is reading this to check whatever out if youre interested and tell me what you think if you feel. If not, I hope you get something out of it.

Visual Art

> I would like to think that God in a way is an artist. The beauty of life is taken in by us as humans, and the joy we experience as we go through it pushes us to express it again in some way. I think the best of art attempts to convey the joy of life to others in hopes that they could have an idea of it as well. Here are some of my favorite artists.

> If the art interests you, click on the photos to check out some more about the artist.

Simon Stalenhag

> The GOAT of conveying that dreamy, strange, and intriguing feeling of experiencing the wonders of the world while young. One of the only art books I have.

John Martin

> Absolute master of retelling stories and expressing on massive grand scales. The fact some sequences of paintings tell stories together is crazy. Every time you take a moment to notice the details that point to the theme of the work you feel like you are increasing your iq. His work has so much depth that is a pleasure to explore.

Gustave Dore

> Endlessly intriguing etches of lots of cool things. His illustrations of many famous works allows you to experience them all over again in a new light, and his work is just a pleasure to look at.

Moebius

> The most alien yet the most familar worlds youll ever see. The fact that a large influence to some of his landscapes was the desert of Mexico is the icing on the cake. His soft colors, grand layouts, and mysterious designs are an endlessly intriguing invitation to escapes to fantasy lands.

Caravaggio

> The composition of light and dark in his works are a signature and cement him as a behemoth in art history. The depth in his works pull us into the scene, looking at every striking and masterfully placed detail leaves us with a cud to chew on for weeks at a time. It is very easy to become addicted to staring at his works with drool falling down your mouth.

Tachyon

> The design of each chracter, structure, piece and perfection of every line has definetely led me to day dreaming for an entire day. The absolute sauce and skill in everything work is like a gut punch but its so good you ask for another. I smile stupidly as I stare lol.

Dappermouth

> Art that is a pleasure in every way to look at. Every color, tone, shade, texture, and subject is just so good. Every piece feels like a story youve been waiting to hear about, and one you really wish you could have seen first hand. I know on twitter some short poems somtimes accompany a post, the fact that they are good adds another level to the experience.

Music

> The way music pulls memories, feelings, and ideas deep from the mind like you are being yanked from the bottom of the sea is just such a unique feeling. Completely diffrent genres, completely different sounds, and completely different ideas will hit just right at just the right time. A song that made you feel one way at one moment wont make you feel like that again in a similar moment, while another one will. Or maybe it will still evoke that emotion, I dont know. Thats the beauty of it I guess. So here are some of my favorite bands and musicians you should definitely check out.

> I know music is art lol, but I feel like it should be in its own class. Black Sabbath

> In my opinion, the metal GOAT. Nothing and no one can truly trump their riffs, their absolute heaviness, and the raw talent and skill in each and everyone of their songs. Into the void, children of the grave, war pigs are INSANE songs.

Alice in Chains

>This is the band for that time when your lonely, confused, tired, angry, hopeful, starting a season, or ending a season. And even crazier, theyre one of the only bands I think can pull off having most of their songs being able to do all those things for you.

Corrosion of Conformity

> Man if it wasn't for Black Sabbath, these would be the GOATs of metal. They started off more punk, but deliverance, wiseblood, blind, and Americas volume dealer are some of the nastiest, heaviest albums ive ever listened to.

Johnny Cash

> Even if you dont like country, Johnny Cash is a phenomenal artist. Hes got killer skill for the guitar, singing, and songwriting. Some songs make you feel like a cowboy under the big nothing, some make you feel like your staring down death himself, some make you feel like your feeling an emotion in its purest form, and some make you feel like your listening to a song the way it should've been made. Some are just a plain good time too.

>Here is my personal cd collection, but a lot of the albums that I like are actually my dads that I stole but eventually returned. Should I include them? Or only display which ones I actually own? Tell me in my comment box or my guestbook!!

Note: I am not much of a Carly Simon fan (yet?) I just got into her and her Cds were like 1$ at one store so I just got them lol. And I only have a lot of compilation albums because stores are inflating the price of classic albums like crazy, my hate of fancy music stores starts now. I PROMISE I LIKE THE ACTUAL ALBUMS MUCH MORE!!!

Credit to the guy who made this display thing Here.

Media n stuff

> I like to sit and watch stuff a lot. Probably not good, but its nice to put something on and watch stuff in the background.

> I like to do lots of things and enjoy myslef many different ways. Here is just some miscellaneous things I like that aren't on my mind as often, but I come back to pretty often.

TV shows

> I dont watch too much TV nowadays, but there are still some shows that are very near and dear to me. If you haven't watched them already, I would absolutely say you should and then talk to me about them.

Movies

> Movies were a big kind of nightly thing with my family, and are very dear to me. If you haven't watched these, I would beg you on my hands and knees to. Tell me what you think of them.

Youtube

> I definetly spent too much time on youtube as a kid, and probably still do now. If youre bored and got some time, definetly check out these channels

Manga and anime

I honestly felt this should and would go under media and stuff, but I realize that I consume a lot more anime and manga than other movies, shows, and books (I consume ungodly amounts of manga). So I feel like this deserves its own section if im trying to describe myslef.

I was actually an avid anime hater back in middle school, though I defend myself with the fact that a lot of people that age and time were weird about it. But once covid hit I got really bored, and decided to read a manga a friend had given me. I immediately got hooked and searched where to read the rest of the series. After that I started watching and reading popular anime I had heard of before. I was quickly very deep down the rabbit hole, but I loved it. So now I have to say im a fan. I read more than anything, and like a lot of different genres within the medium.

I unfortunately enjoy SLOP, I will read WHATEVER.

I just like the art and the sense of hope for brighter days ahead in a lot of the slop. As well as the fact that they end. I cant stand that in modern DC and Marvel everything needs to be brought back and go on forever. Unless the event happened in the literal 60s theres no garuntee it will actually stick around and matter. Spider-Man might be my favorite hero, but they need to either kill Peter or make a successor that actually replaces him and make Peter NEVER swing another web. They have killed and tortured my boy for too long just to justify changes to him I dont care about (especially beacause they are changed a few years later). Present Ultimate Spider-Man is the only good thing to happen in a long time, because there are changes to the story that I actually care about.

This is turning to a comic rant so back to the topic at hand: even at their most slop mangas are still nice. Plus there are some absolte gems, plenty of them actually. I regret not giving them a chance when I was younger. I might or might not make a read/ watch list someday, I dont know how much I want to reveal about myself lol. Either way, id be happy to hear reccomendations.
